Kentucky church is dropping its scouting program

Editor: A person's standards of behavior or beliefs (aka: morals) is basically what is and is not acceptable for them to do. Acceptable behavior or beliefs are what a society allows them to become. Today we find what was once considered unacceptable is now acceptable and this fact corresponds directly to what is actually being done. I call it group ethical apathy.

Kentucky church is dropping its scouting program: "LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An evangelical Christian church here with more than 30,000 members will break ties with the Boy Scouts of America because it believes the youth organization has become too polarizing, its executive pastor said."

Do your homework before signing up for work-at-home

Do your homework before signing up for work-at-home: "Work-at-home schemes have been around for a long time. Traditional schemes such as envelope-stuffing are still around. A consumer recently forwarded to BBB a pay-upfront offer from Preston Lord Enterprises aka Maxwell Gates Enterprises, which was sued in 2011 by the New Jersey Attorney General. The lawsuit was part of “Operation Empty Promises,” a nationwide crackdown against work-at-home scams.

Digital age work-at-home scams are now commonly reported by consumers who respond to offers found on the Web or receive offers after signing up on job-hunting sites."

Police: Utah soccer referee punched by player dies

Editor: Anyone who has ever participated in an activity where there is an opponent has witnessed competitive anger. Did this kid mean to cause death? I doubt it. Will he be punished for the rest of his life for his flash of anger that resulted in an accidental death? That remains to be seen. However, this kid will witness the anger of his peers in the name of justice. But will the justice be fair? Let's look at that question a bit. The competition in this case simply moves from the athletic arena into the legal arena. In this arena there will be no accidents. In this arena it is legal to premeditate and you can bet the farm that both sides are huddling right now.  That sound you hear in the distance is the media pounding away on their drums of passion. Do we as a nation, value fairness? Make no mistake about it, he larger segment of our great nation; the one that makes us who we are, places the highest value possible on fairness... and justice.

Police: Utah soccer referee punched by player dies: "Police have accused a 17-year-old player in a recreational soccer league of punching Portillo after the man called a foul on him and issued him a yellow card.

"The suspect was close to Portillo and punched him once in the face as a result of the call," Hoyal said in a press release."

Connecticut gun company considering relocating to Horry County – The Post and Courier

Editor: I know of no other place on Earth more gun friendly than is Sumter County, South Carolina. In fact our industrial complexes have several empty buildings waiting for the right occupant. I would venture to say our leaders would be waiting at the County Line with the keys to one of them in hand. then there are the tax advantages our leaders surely would be offering. Most importantly, gun loving and pistol toting General Patton's own 3rd Army is headquartered here in Sumter. Why would a manufacturer of guns locate anywhere else?

Connecticut gun company considering relocating to Horry County – The Post and Courier: "The company  "PTR Industries" has been contacted by 41 states. The six finalists have not been disclosed although Kansas courted the company and Texas Gov. Rick Perry says he’s eager to bring the company to his state."
